Patrick's Ride: Virtual Rider

 

The non-competitive ride from Savannah, GA to Augusta, GA (140 miles plus) on Saturday, October 21 is open to anyone over age 14, who can maintain a speed of 18 mph on a course with varied terrain including hills, and can raise a minimum of $140. Riders who are under 18 years of age must get permission from a legal guardian to participate.

This is a well-supported journey with stocked rest stops every 15 to 35 miles, support and gear vehicles, smiling volunteers, fellowship, a finish line celebration dinner, and a ride home the next morning for you and your bike.

This fundraising ride benefits children and families with cancer at the Dwaine and Cynthia Willett Children's Hospital of Savannah and at the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute at Memorial University Medical Center.

Hotel:

We will be staying at the Augusta Marriott Convention Center, 2 Tenth Street, Augusta, GA, 30901. Riders are in charge of booking their own hotel rooms. To recieve the group rate, click here or call 800-868-5354 and ask for the Patrick's Ride group rate. The deadline to recieve the group rate is October 6, 2017! An alternate hotel is the Holiday Inn Express at 444 Broad Street, Augusta, GA, 30901. The phone number is 706-922-1414. It is within a few blocks of the Marriott. There is not a group rate available.

Event Location and Schedule:

Riders will depart from the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute, 4700 Waters Avenue, Savannah, GA, 31404, and end at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center, 2 Tenth Street, Augusta, GA, 30901.

Registration Fees and guest Tickets for Dinner:

Patrick's Ride Rider Registration is $140. There is a mandatory fundraising minimum fee of $140.

Registration fee includes:

  • Ride from Savannah to Augusta
  • Jersey (riders will recieve this at packet pickup)
  • Snacks
  • One seat at the Celebration Dinner
  • Transportation for you and your bike to return to Savannah

NOTE: Registration fees are non-refundable and are not tax-deductible. Fees also do not count towards your fundraising minimum.

Luggage:

Please pack lightly! Put essentials for the day in one of the S.A.G. vehicles, but overnight luggage will be transported to Augusta. You can pick up your overnight luggage when you arrive at the Marriott.

Snacks & Meals:

Snacks, lunch, and dinner will be provided on Saturday. Riders are on their own for breakfast Saturday and Sunday. The hotel serves breakfast and has a coffee shop.

Rider Safety:

Riders must maintain a speed of 18mph on a course with varied terrain including hills. Riders are required to wear helmets.

Support and Gear (S.A.G.) Vehicles:

S.A.G. Vehicles will be along the route. Riders who cannot maintain the required minimum speed (18 mph) may be asked to ride in the S.A.G.

Transportation for You & Your Bike:

We will provide transportation for you and your bike to return back to the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah on Sunday. Please let us know if you will need transportation for you and your bike.
